Covid Policy - Little Steps

It can be a little tricky navigating all the guidance and rules put in place to keep us safe and each small business is having to interpret the guidance to fit their work. Below I have made a list of all the things I will put in place and changes I have made to the class to keep you safe and comply with government guidelines. As I am sure you are aware these guidelines can change, and I will make any necessary adjustments to comply.

I have also put together a list of things I am asking you to do to make the class as safe you and everyone else as possible.

What Dance Steps will do:

  • Ventilation – open windows and doors
  • Clean door handles before class
  • Clean door handles and floor after class
  • Hand sanitiser available in the room
  • Encourage social distancing for adults and use floor markers for any circle activities
  • Take details for track and trace- name, phone number and email address
  • Complete a weekly register to account for who has attended the class
  • Have no more than 9 places in the class so a total of 11 adults including the teacher and assistant teacher
  • Wash any props used between classes
  • Make large material safer to use by adding handles which will be sanitised in between the two classes
  • Create LITTLE STEPS props bags to allow participants to only use their own props reducing risk of infection when sharing handheld items
  • Give each participant their own sheet of LITTLE STEPS stickers so that the grown up can give out a sticker to their child/children at the end of the session
  • A first aid kit will be available in the room as well as cool packs for any accidents

What you can do:

  • Arrive promptly and leave promptly
  • Remove outdoor shoes before entering the space
  • Leave buggies/prams outside
  • Put your belongings in your own space – there will be chairs spaced out around the edges of the room
  • Hand wash on arrival
  • Use hand sanitiser when you wish
  • Only use your own props from your LITTLE STEPS prop bag
  • Please sanitise/wash your own props in between classes
  • Bring your own drink and snack and please don’t share them with other families
  • Bring your own book for book time
  • Do not use the kitchen
  • Wear dance shoes/sticky socks if you choose to
  • Bare feet are ok – but you will need to wash your feet when you leave the space
  • You are welcome to use a face covering if you wish to, however they are not mandatory
  • Bring and wear layers – space may be cooler due to open windows and doors for ventilation
  • Adults need to keep their distance from each other
  • Wash hands before you leave the building
  • DO NOT attend class if you or your children show any signs/symptoms of COVID-19 and inform Alicia
