Little Steps is a dance class to be enjoyed by an adult and a child. It could be mum, dad, grandparents or any family member/carer who wishes to take part with the child. The class is a wonderful bonding exercise where you can spend quality uninterrupted time with your little one(s).
Creative dancing together will allow for special bonding time as well as developing confidence and creativity through movement.
Each class will have a familiar start and finish, but the main content will vary each week depending on the theme.
The main content of each class will include song and dance, prop-based movement games and some improvisation. Often the children may take the lead with activities, others will be led by the adults.
As a teacher, education is a key factor for me. Children learn in a variety of ways and encouraging creativity and confidence can help children in all areas of the curriculum. During the sessions I will make links to the different aspects of the EYFS that we are covering:
- Communication and Language
- Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Literacy, Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- and Expressive Arts and Design.
My ethos is that dance should be creative, fun and allow a person to express themselves through movement. I enjoy a range of dance styles and try to incorporate a variety within my teaching.
As a mother of three I understand it is difficult to find classes for pre-schoolers and toddlers that babies are welcome to, so I decided to create this class in which younger children can attend.
So, if you have another child under 18mths you can bring them along for free.
If they are over 18mths you receive a 50% discount.
